El Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC) de Estados Unidos anunció la formación en el océano Atlántico de la tormenta tropical Joyce y el huracán Isaac.

Joyce es la décima tormenta con nombre de la actual temporada y se localiza sobre las aguas abiertas del océano Atlántico tropical, a unas 1,325 millas (2,130 km) al este de las Islas de Sotavento del norte, al norte de Venezuela.

Se mueve hacia el noroeste a cerca de 13 mph (20 km/h) con vientos máximos sostenidos de unos 40 mph (65 km/h) con ráfagas más fuertes.

Según el NHC, se prevé que se mueva hacia el oeste a través del Atlántico y se fortalezca un poco hasta el sábado. Luego debería girar el norte y debilitarse gradualmente a principios de la próxima semana.

Por otra parte, el huracán Isaac se encuentra a unas 1,080 millas (1,740 km) al oeste de las Azores y se está moviendo hacia el este-noreste a cerca de 18 mph (30 km/h). Se espera que en los próximos días gane en velocidad.

Tiene vientos máximos sostenidos unos 75 mph (120 km/h), con rachas más fuertes. El sábado debe fortalecerse antes de debilitarse gradualmente hacia el final del domingo.
