La profesora y activista Jenny Pantoja fue detenida arbitrariamente ayer 18 de septiembre por órdenes de la Seguridad del Estado.

La vivienda de Pantoja estaba siendo vigilada por miembros de Ministerio de Interior, informó el Observatorio de Derechos Culturales en una denuncia.

Pantojo dijo que sadría de su hogar porque “ellos no tienen autoridad legal ninguna para detenerme y porque pienso y sé que el día que todos luchemos de manera firme por nuestros #derechosciviles, ellos no podrán sostenerse más en el poder”.

Horas más tarde, la intelectual comunicó que había sido liberada.

Otros intelectuales fueron reprimidos esta semana y citados a interrogatorios en Villa Marista, la sede de la policía política cubana.

En julio pasado, la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de la Habana (UCM-H) despidió a la profesora y activista Jenny Pantoja Torres de su trabajo en la Facultad Miguel Enríquez. 

Pantoja Torres estaba bajo contrato y en período de prueba, pero semanas atrás el jefe del Departamento de Marxismo e Historia  le había asegurado que no prescindiría de sus servicios.

A raíz del activismo de la profesora se ha incrementado el acoso contra ella. En junio pasado fue detenida junto a la académica Alina Bárbara López cuando se dirigían a La Habana.
