Recurrentes cortes de Internet ante apagón general en Cuba

En este momento, no solo los apagones de más de 24 horas afectan a los cubanos. Los continuos cortes de internet han impedido que muchos estén desactualizados de la situación, no puedan acceder a datos de último minuto e incluso no comunicarse con sus familiares en el exterior.

En este sentido, la empresa NetBlocks, dedicada al monitoreo global de Internet, ha informado sobre la caída «significativa» del tráfico de Internet en la Isla.

Los gráficos de esta plataforma exponen que la caída se ha producido pasadas las 12:00 horas del mediodía de este viernes.

El británico y defensor de los derechos humanos, Alp Toker, dirige esta plataforma como compañía privada, «independiente y no partidista», experta en derechos digitales, ciberseguridad y gobernanza de internet.

Recordemos que, en 2020, NetBlocks se hizo eco de la interrupción parcial de las redes sociales en Cuba, consecuencia de las protestas asociadas con el Movimiento San Isidro (MSI).

Esta caída abismal del tráfico de Internet en Cuba llega en consecuencia del anuncio del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MINEM) sobre la desconexión total del Sistema Electroenergético Nacional (SEN), que en su segundo día sigue sin restablecerse.

Los comentarios sobre esta caótica situación se vuelven muy recurrentes: «Qué falta de respeto tan grande, un país entero sin electricidad, que entreguen el país y se larguen que Cuba”, es un ejemplo de la indignación que viven los cubanos.
