Este sábado, alrededor de la 1:00 p.m., una explosión en el mercado de Cuatro Caminos, en La Habana, prendió alarmas entre los vecinos y los transeúntes, causado por la explosión de un transformador soterrado, que levantó parte del piso del portal del centro comercial, sin observarse presencia de fuego en la zona.

Luego del incidente se produjo un despliegue de bomberos y agentes policiales, y acudieron varias autoridades, sin embargo, el Gobierno de La Habana, no ha emitido información oficial al respecto.

Reinaugurado en noviembre de 2019, este uno de los centros comerciales más importantes del país, pero no por esto escapa de la falta de mantenimiento y la obsolescencia de sus infraestructuras.

De hecho, el propio día de su reinauguración, recordemos, se cerró al público ante la afluencia masiva de cubanos, reabriendo definitivamente en enero de 2020, luego de aparentes reparaciones y labores de mantenimiento.

En medio de la pandemia de COVID-19, el mercado cerró por brotes de contagio entre sus trabajadores y aunque el abastecimiento es escaso, sigue siendo un lugar de concentración de varios cubanos, intentado conseguir algo para comer.
