El opositor Carlos Manuel Pupo Rodríguez, de 70 años, recibió el alta médica este 14 de septiembre después de sufrir una isquemia cerebral que provocó la parálisis del lado derecho de su cuerpo.

Actualmente, Pupo Rodríguez se encuentra en su hogar con la recomendación médica de mantener un control estricto de su presión arterial y niveles de azúcar en sangre, informó la organización Cubalex.

Antes de recibir el alta, el expreso político padecía una infección renal y recibía tratamiento con suero y antibióticos. Un teniente coronel le vigilaba en la sala donde estaba ingresado.

Durante su estancia en el Hospital General Comandante Ciro Redondo, el opositor estuvo a la espera de la realización de un TAC para evaluar el daño cerebral causado por la isquemia. Según informes, la decisión sobre la realización del examen estaba en manos de la Seguridad del Estado.

La semana pasada, el régimen cubano le otorgó una licencia extrapenal debido al deterioro de su salud.

Pupo Rodríguez, coordinador nacional del Partido Unión por Cuba Libre (PUNCLI), fue condenado a cinco años de prisión por su participación en las protestas de julio de 2021.
