Activista Ángel Cuza en celda de castigo por apoyar a otro preso político

El activista Ángel Cuza Alfonso fue llevado a celda de castigo en la prisión Combinado del Este, de La Habana, tras mostrar apoyo a otro preso político, Duannis León Taboada, quien fue golpeado después de realizar protestas pacíficas en el centro penitenciario, informó el Observatorio Cubano de Derechos Humanoos.

Recientemente León Taboada realizó dos manifestaciones pacíficas. La primera surgió como respuesta a la negación de atención médica y a los abusos contra otros presos, mientras que en la segunda oportunidad el recluso se vistió con una prenda que tenía  la palabra “JUSTICIA” y protestó contra las recientes detenciones de manifestantes.

En medio de estos actos de protesta, León Taboada fue rociado con gas pimienta, además de que presenta signos visibles de agresiones físicas en diversas partes del cuerpo.

Durante la visita familiar que le permitieron el sábado 26 de octubre, los familiares de León Taboada pudieron constatar su deteriorado estado físico, incluida una significativa pérdida de peso tras varios días sin ingerir alimentos.

A raíz de la represión a León Taboada, su madre sufrió un accidente cerebrovascular.

Por su lado, Cuza fue condenado el 6 de noviembre de 2023 a un año y seis meses de prisión bajo el supuesto delito de “desórdenes públicos”.
